What is the difference between strep throat infection and tonsillitis?

Streptococcal throat infection is caused by a microorganism known as streptococci. Tonsillitis means infection of tonsil. It could be caused by various organisms including the streptococci.

well, their both the same, but to be technical strep throat is swelling of the tonsils for a short time, and tonsilitis is swelling for a long time perhaps your whole life.
