VERY sore throat suggestions for home treatment?

Hi,I did the following:
VERY sore throat suggestions for home treatment?for at least 5 years now i have been getting throat infections that get worse every year i figured when i moved to hawaii the humidity and heat would help...it did for a while but now its back.... i have a chronic sore throat- i carry strep in the back of my throat but im immune to it it only effects me when it incubates and turns into something worse which it did last year- tonsilitis
this morning i woke up wih my fiance and couldnt even speak to him
my doctor back home said it would be useless to take out my tonsils as they were not the cause....well i think he was wrong
i believe i have
Chronic cryptic tonsillitis - Cryptic in the case of the tonsils refers simply to the tonsillar crypts which are little pit-like depressions in the tonsils. The word "cryptic" comes from the Greek "kryptos" meaning hidden or concealed. Thus, cryptic tonsillitis may be concealed because it is down in the pits (of the tonsil) and may not be causing apparent symptoms.

if you look into my throat (no im not taking photos its nasty) there are MANY very LARGE abnormal holes in my tonsils
one more so that theother because thistime ast year it was so bad i actually POPPED my tonsil witha tooth brush on accident.....

anyway for now im in a difficult situation i have no insurance or health care because my fiance is in the army and im not married to him yet so we would have to pay for any treatment out of pocket..
any suggestions for home treatment until my fiance and i can get married? lol

What I Say
Hasn't anyone informed you of the benefits of saline gargling? It's done in hospitals and recommended by plenty of physicians.

You can also use a solution of hydrogen peroxide diluted with water (equal parts water and peroxide), but it's a little harsh for some people. You'll feel it fizz in your mouth after you use it. Don't swallow it!

What about the antibiotic benefits of eating raw garlic? Have you even tried it? Garlic contains sulfur type chemicals that protect against bacterial and fungal infections. You could even crush it up and make a mouthwash with it. Yes, you'll smell like garlic but you can mask that with mints or by eating fresh herbs that sweeten your breath like parsley.

It sounds like you need to do something like gargle regularly so that you don't give bacteria that grows in your mouth or in the holes and cracks of your tonsils a chance to get to overwhelming levels.

One glass of warm (not hot!) water, dissolve 1 teaspoon of sea salt or kosher salt into the water. Gargle.

Also, write letters encouraging your government representatives to vote for public-option universal healthcare. It won't make your throat feel better, but could prevent you from having to worry about something and not see a doctor for it. Letter writing will also take your mind off of your throat.

Also good is drinking honey in warm water.

Warm water and salt. Gargle. Spit. Just to warn you though... it's gross

tonsillitis is caused by strep and other bacterial infections and viral infections. it sonuds like ur tonsils need to be removed.
WHy dont you apply for medcaid. go to a walk in clinic and find out what can be done.
