I am not sure, but do you know if you can still get strep without tonsils?Now, I have been reading online where all the symptoms for strep throat include your tonsils. It makes it hard for me to see if I have something wrong, because I had my tonsils out about 10 years ago. And starting this afternoon my throat started killing me. I have a spot that feels as if someone is cutting my throat and it feels like I have a lumb in the area when I yawn or swollow.I just want to know, can I still have strep without my tonsils? Any advice, please!

yes you can me and my brother don't have our tonsils anymore and we have both had strep throat(after tonsils were removed that is). it sounds like strep to me. There's actually a strep test at the doctor's office they just swab and test it and you'll find out if you have strep in like 20 minutes.

Yes, strep is a throat infection, not just tonsils. The tonsils just stick out so much that it makes them easy to see when they are red or have the pustules on them.
If you are running a fever along with the symptoms you mentioned, go see a doctor tomorrow.
