I'd Go back to the doctor and tell hiom food keeps Getting Stuck and then you choke, It might be serious.

Since your tonsils are swollen for the time being because of the infection there are two things you can do:

1) take inflammatory drugs such as advil, day quill, or something stronger prescribed by your doctor that will help with reducing the swelling.

2) Until you are well eat mostly liquid items such as soups and smoothies or even grinded up foods you put in a blender. I have experienced that very slimy foods such as canned fruits and ice cream despite it not being very nutritious can work as well. You could also try porridge and see how that works.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Edit: The food getting stuck has to do with the strep throat or infection right? If it is tonsil stone let me know because I have a tons of info on that and I know a lot of remedies.

actually most people don't experience this.
i wish i could be more help but at least i know how you feel.
it actually has a name. its called tonsilloliths but usually they are just called tonsil stones. its basically when food gets stuck in the crevasis of your tonsils.
i've had them since i was 12 (i'm 23 now) and over the last year its gotten soooo bad. i've tried everything to get them out and keep them from getting in. i've used listerine, salt water garggle, getting back there with the tooth brush, poking a q-tip in there but the only way i can ever get them out it to use my fingers. i gag my self so bad that sometimes i throw up too.
they are usually so stuck in there that i try a few times a day to get them out but they won't come out for a few weeks and it makes my breath smell bad.
in the last year i've had 4 sinus infections and horrible sinus pressure almost all the time.
it seems like most of the time i have at least one stuck in there.
a couple weeks ago i just got sooo tired of this crap that i made an appointment with an ear, nose, and throat specialist. my appointment isn't until next thursday so i don't know what he'll recommend. i'm almost hoping he does a tonsillectomy. i'd gladly take the pain and unplesant recovery to be rid of this condition for the rest of my life.

i'll let you know what the ENT says.

I have a problem with food getting stuck in my tonsils because of large openings in them and I get tonsillitis quite a bit. My doctor told me to buy a bottle of Listerine and gargle with it after every meal. This helps to cleanse out any food and helps to disinfect your tonsils and your mouth to help keep you from getting tonsillitis again because of this problem. It has helped me quite a bit and I haven't had problems since!

Drink water and hopefully the food will dissolve a bit and go down. Do not go to sleep until you are sure the food is completely gone, and then do not eat any solid foods until you see a physician so they can give you something for the swelling. If you are having this much trouble swollowing, you may have to go to an emergency room or clinic to see someone right away. Make sure the food is swollowed, and then make the decision whether you need to be seen right away or tomorrow.
