Tonsils removed???????

These are useful and collceted by kong!
Tonsils removed???????I am 22 years old and I've had bad infections in my tonsils for 4 months now. antibiotics don't help at all. so the only thing i can do is get my tonsils removed. what are your experiences with this? Will it change the way I speak?

it will not effect the way you speak, don't know why doctors don't remove tonsils from children if they have chronic, recurring throat infections, it is so much easier on a child than an adult having tonsils removed.

This has nothing to do with your voice box so no voice changes will occur. This is a minor procedure but adults do not bounce back as quickly as children do when having this done. Expect a week or so of discomfort. You will be taking pain medication and mostly liquids for a few days. Once you get through this and heal, you will be glad that you no longer have to take antibiotics or be sick with this again.

I just got mine out last week and I honestly would never do it again! Recovering has been very painful for me and I'm on oxycodone. I haven't eatten in 8 days but I can finally drink. I had to go in for an IV a couple days ago for dehydration. I'm sure its different for everybody but this is how its been going for me.

Oh and my taste buds are wacko! Everything tastes tasty. All I want is a cheesburger now!

it sonuds like you have mono or chronic throat infections.
