I got may tonsils out last week- after the scabs come out, does the pain start to go away for good?Hi- I got my tonsils out last Friday and the scabs are coming out, but i've got the worst pain in my left ear! I can't swallow or eat or talk without it causes alot of pain! It hurts soooo bad; it makes me wanna scream!! After the scabs come out, will this ear pain go away once the scabs come off??

Call your doctor and ask. It takes a few weeks to be completely well, but it sounds like you might be having some extra pain.

my brother got his tonsils out 2
and he used this numing throat spray
and sprayed like six times he said it was working so he used it 4 about 3 days and all his pain was gone hope it works if you try it

When I had my tonsils removed I had the same thing happen. My ears would kill and I also couldn't swim in a city meet (which really sucked) because they didn't want the scabs getting bumped and to start bleeding.

They gave me some liquid painkiller (I think it was prescription codeine) which tasted really nasty but would help the pain so much. You may want to see if you can get a prescription (if not, then ibuprofen or acetaminophen or other OTC anti-inflammatories should help).
It stopped hurting altogether after about a week to a week and a half, although your voice will be hoarse and weak for a while longer (about 5 more days).
