How do I prevent/get rid of tonsil stones/tonsilliths?I've had them pretty much my whole life but they're getting worse. What causes them and how do I get rid of them??

caused by a couple things like food lodged in little cracks and crevices in your mouth, bacteria stuff like that...gargle and/or rinse your mouth out after eating, even slosh some of whatever your drinking around before you swallow it would help...getting your tonsils removed would get ride of them...hope that helped

I don' t really know what causes them, but the only way that I know that is possible to get rid of them is, well, to get rid of them. You would have to get a surgery. I remembering getting my tonsils out back in 2002 I think. What they did was, they put me to sleep, then I guess they took me to the operating room. After the surgery, all they made me eat was ice cream, lots of it! BUT, if you do get your tonsils removed, your throat will hurt so bad for the next few days of the surgery. When I got done with the surgery, I couldn't eat, drink water (I'm serious; I didn't drink anything for a day straight), or talk... But, you know, technology advanced since 2002, we live in 2011, I don't think that it will hurt that bad. Good luck!
