It sounds like you may have strep throat on top of the mono. Get to the doc and get a strep test done pronto.

Are you under a Dr's treatment already due to the mono? If so, give them a call, your tonsils are infected

If you have mono, there is no medication that the doctor can give you. But the white on the tonsils makes me think that you might have something else requiring medical intervention. Best thing for mono is to get plenty of H2O and rest.
Good Luck and feel better soon.

About five years ago I had Mono, and my tonsils were also huge with the white stuff. It actually hurt to drink water. My doctors told me it is normal for your tonsils to be infected since your body's immune system is busy trying to fight off the Mono. There really is nothing that can be done. Just get lots of rest and drink plenty of water. Maybe ask your doctor for a pain reliever to make swallowing easier.

Your tonsils are hypertrophic and this is a typical complication of mono. Just report it to your doctor and get her/his recommendations, if any.

For two weeks? I hope you have been to the doctor. Mono is a virus that makes your whole body fatigued and enlarges your spleen and lymphnodes. A doctor will take blood samples and press on the location on your abdomen where you spleen is and check to see if you have swollen glands.
Besides mono, it could just be another virus, allergies or another infection. you best bet is to see a doctor for an accurate diagnosis.

I am suffering with mono myself and i can tell you that that is completely normal.
This happens and it's why doctors sometimes initially mistake mono for tonsillitis.
The good news is that the sore throat and the huge tonsils bit is probably nearly over.
With me, the sore throat etc lasted just over 2 weeks but the tiredness, headaches and achey muscles are still going on now. I have had it for 10 weeks.
I would say that there is no need to go to the doctor they will just say "Yes this is normal"
But in another 10 days if your tonsils are still not getting any better then that's when you need to consider going to the doctors.
One thing you can do though is take pain killers to relieve the pain of the sore throat. And you still need to drink lots of fluids however hard swallowing may be.
