I have pain on one side of my throat for 2 days, should i be worried?

Hi,I did the following:
I have pain on one side of my throat for 2 days, should i be worried?I have pain on the right side of my throat for 2 days now. Before that it was the left side. I had my tonsils out 3 years ago because i got some form of kidney failure from a strep infection that was never cured. The pain is only in my throat, and when i move my tongue, but even then the pain is only on the right side of my tongue. I also have a deviated septum from a broken nose years ago, so i don't know if this is just sinus related because i do have a stuffy nose and post nasal drip. please helppppppp meee =(

Sounds to me like just a cold. Take an over the counter medicine that will eliviate sore throat and your other symptoms. If it last more that 7 days see a doctor.

If it is strep you won't have a runny nose. Also try some warm salt water rinses - to soothe it and take some motrin.
Do you have a fever ? Headache? It may be just a cold.

If you have a sore throat for more then 2-3 days you need to call your doctor to have them rule out strep.

When I (or my kids) get strep I am pretty sick. Not just a wicked sore throat - (fever, headache, I feel awful).

Drink lots of clear fluids today and rest. If you aren't better tomorrow call your doctor.

Sometimes during a tonsillectomy not all of the tissue is removed. The surgeon can't get to it if there's an active infection.

Some surgeries take out just the tonsils while other tonsillectomies remove the lymph nodes as well.

To be on the safe side, re-visit your ottolaryngologist (Ear, Nose, & Throat doc) and have it checked out.
