I have tonsil inflammation, can I put an Ice pack on my throat?

answer them
I have tonsil inflammation, can I put an Ice pack on my throat? My throat is very swollen, I cannot swallow.
I am on penicillin already but the thing isn't getting better!

I was wondering if it would be a good or bad idea to put an ice pack on my throat to hopefully reduce swelling?
Or should I stay away from doing that?

You can put an ice pack on your throat, you can gargle with warm salt water or sip chicken broth or soup, brush your teeth, can try sudafed, the real stuff , not the PE type, that's phenylephrine and basically ineffective. just buy the one behind the pharmacy counter and show your driver's license. you can eat popcicles, too. Hope you feel better soon. also, motrin (ibuprofen) 400-600mg every 6-8 hours will help with the inflammation. or just take Nyquil tonight, do not mix cold meds as many have the same ingredients no matter what the brand. Nyquil has alcohol in it, decongestant and antihistamine and tylenol. hope you feel better. you might try liquid jello, dont let it gel unless you want to.

I've not had inflamed tonsils, but i have had mononeucliosis which makes one feel as if their throat has been cut open with a knife, it hurts so bad... Drink lots of almost-frozen stuff. Really cold things help. Baby food is good to eat when you get hungry.
