Why do I have white spots on my tonsils?I went to the doctor last week. I had a sore throat, white spots on my throat and was feeling ill. I wasn't give a strep test. I was prescribed amoxicillan to take for 10 days. It's been almost a week, and I do feel better, but I still have white spots. The old ones went away and I got a couple of new ones. I've been kind of tired and I'm still a bit achy. What do I have?

Call your doctor and let him know that you got some new ones. Amoxicillin is pretty weak, so maybe it's not working well for you.

You have tonsilitis. Those are infections (a nice way to put it). If they are still bad, I would go back to teh doctor because the amox. did not work.

It should get better soon. The white spots are where the infection is. If you don''t feel better soon, see the doctor again as you might have glandular fever...not serious, but it can make you feel awful. Good luck

i have had that like 6 times!!! i think it may be Tonsilitus, because i went all achy and it really hurt to swallow when i had it!. id go back to the doctors!
