What's up with the throat?? Had a sore right tonsil for over 1mo, its very mild, but has some white stuff?It is a very mild sore throat on my right tonsil with is slightly enlarged and has some white areas w/ little cut on it. What could be the reason and more importantly how could I get rid of this? I do have some sinus issues (probably allergy related with a little drainage...could the drainage be causing this? People have mentioned crypts...should I get this tonsil cut out?? Anyone with similar experiences?? Thanks!

You might indeed have to have this tonsil out....it may be chronically infected. But the good news is that, after you do have it out, you will probably have less sinus related problems.

You most like have strep throat...I would suggest you contact your doctor to get antibiotics. It is very contagious and you do not want to pass on the condition.
Over the counter meds will only ease the discomfort, if strep you will need antibiotics to properly rid yourself of the infection.

The same exact thing happend to me.
I was getting strep throat and tonsilitis constantly until pockets formed in my tonsils with white, hard gunk in it. It got so bad, I could stick Qtips in there and pull the stuff out but I'm not gonna go into details.
Maybe it has something to do with the bacteria in the drainage that is dripping all over that tonsil.
My advice, would be to have them taken out.
Basically, all you need to do is go to an ears, nose, and throat doctor and they will get you scheduled to have your tonsils removed.
The procedure isn't that scary. But you wake up and the back of your throat hurts really bad.
My advice, drink ice cold liquids :]
