tonsils, the appendix and ur thyroid gland all have immune system supporting chemicals in them

tonsils don't do much in particular, they help with making the rr sound in spanish, but when they get infected they'll need to be removed, and that isn't a big deal, so you aren't losing much

...they produce antibodies...that help with the bodies immunities...to help fight off bacteria...viral infection etc...

The tonsils are part of your immune system, they catch incoming germs. When I grew up in the 1950's it was common to have them removed if they swelled up. I guess people thought they didn't do anything useful. Today however the doctor is likely to give you something to treat the swelling or infection and so try to save them.
