What are some good remedies to help with swollen tonsils.?Right now I'm sick, so that's the reason they're swollen. It hurts when I swallow, and it's making me have trouble sleeping. I've takin' two Motrin, about 5-10 minutes ago. So I'm hoping that stops a little of the swelling and pain, but if anyone knows and good home remedies for it, I would be very grateful. Thanks.
Did the salt-water thing. Helped quite a bit, but gave me heartburn. Lol. Thanks guys/girls.

Gargle a glass of warm salt-water. I know it sounds nasty but it really, really helps. Usually a ratio of 1/2 teaspoon salt to a cup of warm water is good.

My grandma's cure for a sore throat:
Heat a cup of water to as hot as you can stand it for gargling. Stir in several shakes of salt and about a teaspoon of baking soda. Gargle three times, twice a day.
The hotness numbs the pain and the salt and baking soda are natural antiseptics.

Drink warm juices like calamansi or lemon juice or pineapple juice. Sour juices are fine without sugar so as not to irritate the swelling. Try drinking warm water with a little salt. Salt are good anti-dote to wounds in the throat. Never drink any cold water or any cold drink for a while until the hurt is gone. Do not talk too much. The vibrations in the throat will further destroy the healing process. Do not eat hard food. Try soup first.
