tonsillitis symptoms with green/yellow puss coming from one "pocket" in left tonsil?This has been going on for over 1.5yrs -- usually happens after allergy season begins or get cold that then goes into sinus/throat infection. Lots of throat pain, swollen tonsils, low grade fever, sinus pain/headache, & dr said left ear canal a little red (hurts a lot to me!). I've had numerous strep cultures (neg). New health plan ent says don't need tonsils removed, but I "could" if I wanted to. Any suggestions? I'm taking albuterol, flonase, sudafed, ocean spray, homeopathic remedies...

you must gargle with warm water every hour... u need to use a highly effective mouth wash... gargle with a mouth wash separately...after u eat anything...
with the help of your finger apply edible glistrine to your affected area... that should soothe the infection...
if you do get an operation done there is no guarantee that they will not come back...

Do you have your records from the previous ENT? Maybe if you take those to the new ENT, he might see it is more than an "elective" type procedure. If you are having constant infections and symptoms, you need to have your tonsils and adenoids out. My daughter had her tonsils out and even after being on strong antibiotics, when the doctor removed them, they still were filled with infection.
Until you can get surgery scheduled, take 500 mg of vitamin C three times a day and zinc picolinate 50 mg daily in addition to your regular multivitamin.
I think it is rare for tonsils to grow back. I hope you get some relief soon. Have a low chronic infection seems to zap your energy and sense of well being.
