Sore throat, white stuff on my right tonsil and throat, fever...? URGENT?I thought i had just a sore throat but it turned out to be much worse. I have had a fever since yesterday and today when I checked myself in the mirror I had developed some white stuff on my right tonsil. They're not really "hard" like tonsil stones" but they're like "fleshy" and sporadic throughout my right tonsil and throat.
It hurts to swallow.
I have had a fever since yesterday. But right now I'm a bit better becauseI took tylenol earlier.
My school health and wellness center is only open monday-friday during summer so I don't really have access to a doctor to tell me what it really is.
My other friend suggests its strep throat.... (?)
Any recommendations for what to take or suggestions to what I might have is welcomed.
I have an Organic Chemistry exam on Monday morning so it is really urgent.

White pustules/sores on the throat is a direct indication of Strep. You don't need them to have strep,but everytime I've run a strep test this year and it's been positive I have seen the white sores. There is nothing you can take over the counter for this and it will not resolve until you see the doctor. How high is your fever? In the meantime, get chloroseptic spray and cough drops to sloth the pain. Go to an urgent care facility if you cannot wait till Monday.

yeah it is most probability that you have the strep throat . but should be evaluated with swab and thereof you would find what is most likely antibiotic needed ,because it would surely appear in the swab and sensitivity test.

This indicates a upper respiratory tract infection, not necessarily strep but likely bacterial. Less possibly this is a virus infection. Best treatment is a few days worth of antibiotic.

That happened to me when I was little, it was strep throat. Go to the doctor and they'll do a swab and provide anti biotics. If it is strep then it's extremely contagious. Good luck!

If you can't get to a doctor immediately to get threated, an old home remedy is to eat pickles. Yes, I said, eat pickles. Germs can't lve in an acid environment and the salt will help to anesthetize ( did I spell that right?? LOL ) the soreness of the tonsils. My uncle was a doctor for well over 50 years and he taught me that old trick. It really works well. Keep a cup of pickle juice handy and gargle with it regularly thruoghout the day, keeping the juice active in your throat.
