No insurance, no money, but acute tonsillitis. Life is in danger, what can I do??

Do you find what you need? Look here!
No insurance, no money, but acute tonsillitis. Life is in danger, what can I do??My father gets Acute Tonsillitis today. I want to call 911 now, but some told me it costs $ 1,000 for emergency ambulance, plus medical treatment fees. My family really cannot afford out-the-pocket money, and my father does not have insurance. What can I do now??
Thank you!!
thank you. I only have a cousin living in same county. Oh, my god! Hope everything's fine, and tomorrow I will try to find a free clinic in the community.
Thank you all. And god bless you, Calico.
Thank you. I drove my dad to Santa Clara Valley Health and Hospital, but my cousin called me back, and told us to come home because he got some Chinese medicine for my dad. Hopefully, after taking Chinese medicine, my dad will turn out to be fine.
Thank you all. God Bless Americans! Take care!

go to a county clinic. sometimes hospitals have free clinics.
a hospital cannot refuse service if it gets that bad.

Help would depend on what services are offered in your area. Most counties have a County Health Department. The health department would be a good starting point. Some counties even offer mental health services. Also, some areas have free (or low cost) services. In my area there's a place called "Aunt Martha's" that would be worth checking out. More places to consider would be the YMCA, YWCA, or the Salvation Army. If someone is in imminent danger then the local emergency department is the first place to go...for both medical and mental help. If a hospital receives any federal monies (as most do) they can not turn anyone away based on their inability to pay. Most hospitals also have programs to assist you if you can't pay the bill.
If you are affiliated with a church you may consider asking the elders or the pastor for assistance, ideas, or help.
I wish you the best.

He should be on antibiotics which can be prescribed at an emergency room. Can a family member drive him? I don't think they can turn anyone away for lack of money if it is serious. They can always send you a bill and you pay them over time.
