If you have a sore throat but you know its not strep or tonsillitis what can it be?It hurts to swallow. It feels like I hurt my throat after I had strep. And yes I finished all my antibiotics.

you could have built up old food compacted in front of your tonsils, .. or just severe post nasal drip..Have you had a lot of conjestion? also, I have learned the hard way,...drink tons and tons of water..(not soda, or ginger) Water helps!:)

I could just be a cold. If you can swallow and there are no white dots on the back of your throat then give it a couple of days and if it does not go away then have it checked by a doctor? Do you have any other symptoms; caught, headache, fever, congestion?

It could be sore from coughing or it could be from a viral infection that has to run its course. Take plenty of fluids and rest.

your throat is dry. drink some water or gargle some salt water.

Well it could be mumps if you have never had them, or just an infection of some kind, I would definately see a doctor...
