I ot my tonsils removed 5 days ago and still can't eat or function?I have been in so much pain and have major shakes and hot flashes as well as jolts and troubles breathing. All I found I can eat is pop ice and chicken broth but I have lost 6lbs from this already and feel weak. I definitely don't recommend anyone to get them removed cause it's the worst pain I have ever been in. What in the world can I do and eat to make me feel better? I can't stand this liquid diet anymore! Please help me with some suggestions!....

Princess, I would go back to the doctor and tell him what's been going on. You could have gotten a infection post surgery, it happens he will probably give you some antibioitcs. Feel Better Rita V

Sweets sorry to hear you are in so much misery but a tonsillectomy should not cause you this much troubles.hot flashes ,shakes, trouble breathing are strange affects to be having from this type surgery, You really should go to your health care provider and let them know whats going on you may need some antibiotics... As for foods try yogurt's. soft cereals like oat meal, grits, noodles.mash potatoes apple juice ice creams shakes if have to eat baby foods to keep from getting to weak For the pain did your doctor give you any pain meds? If not crush up a tylenol or whatever type pain reliever you use and eat with the soft foods or swallow with hot tea.Teas are great for the soreness.Gargle with salt water or a water peroxide mix either one will help with the healing process in your throat
