I am 23 and I'm on day 5 with a considerable amount of pain in the morning and I still can't breathe through my nose yet due to swelling. I mix the Oxycodone prescribed for my tonsils and adenoids with the 800mg Motrin that is prescribed for my back so that the pain is bearable. At night you can only breathe through your mouth so your throat dries out and causes a lot of pain. It sounds worse than it really is, and I also had my adenoids removed so it might be easier for you. As long as the end result is less tonsillitis, sore throats, and snoring I think the pain is worth it. Supposedly 10 days is the allotted amount of time for the total healing process for adults.
