How long to miss work for a Tonsillectomy?An adult co worker is having a Tonsillectomy and has scheduled 2 and a half weeks off. Is this how long it takes to recover from one?

It depends upon the procedure method used. The standard surgery can take longer to heal from, the more advanced procedures less so. Adults also don't bounce back from this surgery as well as children and some can have a pretty tough time of it. Also remember that every person is an individual, one may heal quicker than another, one may have more pain than another, one may have a tougher time than another. Chances are your co-worker is just playing it safe and wants to ensure that enough time has been allowed for full recovery, even with complications.
