how long can i give my 8yr son paracetamol and ibruprofen?10days ago my son caught tonsillitis it was treated with antibiotics, paracetamol and ibruprofen but on the 3rd day of treatment his tonsilitus was clearing but he caught a viral fever, doctor prescribed more paracetamol and ibruprofen for fever.....my son is very slowly getting better but still needs paracetamol and ibruprofen to keep his temp down ....is it safe for him to still be taking paracetamol and ibruprofen for a full 10 days .....hes not eating a lot but is sleeping loads, but is drinking fluids well .
landsy
i'm not a doctor or anything but as long as he isn't having any troubles swallowing them then it should be fine.
i was taking paracetamol and ibuprofen from about the age of 7 because i used to suffer with migraines all the time so would take them for quite a few days running. i also always used to have a constant supply of them in my school bag so that i could take one whenever i felt a migraine coming on :)
so yeah, it should be fine if that's the only way of keeping his temp down!
