How do you get rid of tonsillitis fast?I am having my tonsils taken out again on Tuesday (in 3 days), and I have tonsillitis.
I know from last time i had the operation, they won't operate if my throat is infected. I am now on my 5th week of antibiotics because the infection just won't go. I've tried gargling salt water/soluble asprin but nothing seems to work.
Any ideas?
I had the first operation 7 years ago, where they only removed part of the tonsils on either side, less on the right than on the left.
And so I have to have the rest of them taken out.

What do you mean by " the last time....had this operation"? You can't have your tonsils out more than once.
The fact remains that they are taking them out because of the ongoing infection, so just let your doctor know that you continue to be sick. He may want to do it anyway because that is the only ultimate answer to your problem.
Don't gargle with aspirin. Over time, it will cause bleeding and you can't have take it if you are having surgery. Let your doctor know how much of that you have been using also because that could cause him to want to delay your surgery.
