Have I got tonsillitis? HELP! :/?I've been getting an itchy throat at really weird intervals for months now, not necessarily after eating something and so I get a really big urge to just claw my throat out because it's so itchy, and sometimes my inner ears become itchy too. I haven't gone to the doctor yet though because it's not consistent.
However, as a result of the itchiness, I end up scratching my throat with my tongue (if you get what I mean) and my throat gets really sore.
But last night I started to get a constantly runny nose that still won't stop, and my nose has been getting really sore as a result of the constant nose blowing and I've noticed I've got this raised white spot on my right tonsil which I know is a symptom of tonsillitis.
So my questions are: do these spots always spread? if so, how long does it take for that to happen?
I've got a Spanish 'A-Level' oral exam mock on Friday that I'd rather not miss, and right now I'm feeling pretty awful so I want to know if there's anything I shouldn't be doing so that my throat gets better. Or do I just go see the doctor, even if it's only 1 white spot on one of my tonsils?
Thanks in advance :)
Allied Hero x3 - I've not had the white spot on my tonsil for months, it wasn't there a couple of days ago. However, I've been having the period itchy throat as mentioned above for months.

Go see your doctor, and preferably stay in bed resting away from college until your Spanish oral on Friday. You need to be feel well for it and going into college can make you feel worse and that's not what you need! The doctor will probably give you some tablets and tell you to rest too :)

No, I'm not sure what you've got, but it certainly isn't tonsillitis.
I've gotten tonsillitis many times before, and it should go away within a week without medication. If you're saying you've had it for months, then obviously it's something else.
I suggest you go see a doctor.
Hope this helps :)
