Do my tonsils need to be removed?I'm 18 and I've nearly finished my third lot of antibiotics for tonsillitis over the course of 4 or 5 weeks. The first two lots were amoxcyllin tablets, and these last lot are penicillin tablets. In total, I would have taken 90 tablets. My tonsils are still swollen and abnormally shaped. And every few days I get a mild sore throat that lasts about an hour. I'd rather not get my tonsils removed, so what else is possible to fix them?

I cannot give you any personal experience or knowledge that would help you better than google would, but in the long run it seems that removing your tonsils would have been better than taking those 90 antibiotics - or your next 90 that you will take. Talking it over with your doctor would be the best bet.
