Do I have viral or bacterial tonsillitis?I have been sick going on 4 days now. I had tonsillitis like 2 months ago and was prescribed antibiotics and they worked so i guess that means i had bacterial tonsillitis???? also, i did not have a cold. I currently have a cold and my sore throat is not that bad. So having a cold means, viral right? Also, will taking antibiotics do nothing for me? Is viral less severe? last time it took about 2 days for my throat to start hurting, i'm wondering will it progress now on my 4th day or later? to begin with i had a itchy throat, then 1st day-chills, body ache, fever, 2nd day-common cold, stiff neck, 3rd day worse cold, headache, throat a little sorer, tonsils with splotchy white mass.
i don't have insurance and don't want to go to the doctor. any help?

Sounds like a sore throat from a cold. I think your throat will probably improve by tomorrow. If the sore throat last 2 more days without improvement, you should see the doctor to get a strep test.
Hope you get better before that.
