Can tonsillitis cause terrible nausea in children?I just came home from bringing my 9 year old to the doctor, she had been complaining of throat pain for 3 days which she says went away today. But she was horribly nauseous today. He didn't seem to be alarmed, he looked in her throat took a culture as he saw white patches in her throat. I am worried because I never heard that tonsillitis ( or strep) can cause severe nausea. does anyone have any knowledge?
thanks so much, i'm so worried!

My daughter did this too. The doctor even asked me if she was sick at her stomach and that was when he suspected strep. Also though if they have the white spots in the back of their throat with a virus or tonsillitis they will get sick at their stomach too. It makes you feel like gagging for some reason. It feels like something is in the back of your throat, which it is and it makes you feel sick at your stomach. I know because I have had this before. You only need to worry if she can't put her head forward or develops a stiff neck or runs a very high fever. Hope she feels better soon.
