can people without tonsils get strep throat?i had my tonsils taken out about 5 months ago but now i have a really bad sore throat.

Yes. Having your tonsils out does not keep you from getting strep throat. It just keeps you from having recurring or ongoing episodes of strep throat and other illnesses like it. You should go to the doctor and be tested for strep, because you don't want it to go untreated.
