Can a canker sore on a tonsil give you an ear ache?I have a canker sore on my right tonsil. I went to my ENT and he coterized it with a chemical. I'm still in a lot of pain and my right ear is killing me. Can a canker sore on my tonsil do this to my ear? And if so, how long will it take to go away? My doctor said I got the canker sore from stress.

Yes. Many times a sore throat can seem like or cause an ear ache. The ears, nose and throat are very connected. Your ENT should have given you something for the pain and discomfort and you should go back to see him (free of charge-follow up) to have the ear thing checked. I am not a doctor or anything and I do not want to scare you, but I had a friend with a very bad sore throat and earache and it was a pre-cancerous melanoma. She got it early and had it removed.

Nose and mouth (signs): The most common places for primary (where cancer first occurs) mucosal melanomas to develop are the nose and mouth. Treatment is often delayed because the early signs and symptoms are minor and often ignored or misinterpreted. Signs and symptoms are:
Nose - Nosebleeds and nasal stuffiness, which may be misinterpreted as "sinus trouble"
Mouth - A pigmented mass and pain on swallowing, which may be misinterpreted as a canker sore or sore throat. By the time melanoma causes pain, it is probably quite advanced; however, an annual oral examination by a physician may detect melanoma in the mouth before it is well advanced.
Mouth/nasal cavities (nasopharyngeal) - Inflammation of the inner ear (otitis media), which may be misinterpreted as an ear infection.
