Tonsil Stones (white spot on tonsils)...Help Please?!?A few days ago, I noticed a single, small white ball shaped mass on one of my tonsils. I googled it, and found out that it is something called a tonsil stone (I'm almost certain that's what it is). My throat doesn't really hurt, but it's a tiny bit dry and irritated. Also, in the past, I've coughed up small whitish yellowish balls, and they are very very foul smelling (sorry this is gross). I never knew what they were, but now I'm assuming they were tonsil stones too...does that sound right?
Anyways, I was wondering if I should do anything about it. I'm afraid to stick anything back in my throat to remove it, but should I? Or should I just leave it alone? I was just at my Dr. yesterday for a routine physical and I mentioned it to her, but she kind of just ignored me and said she didn't see anything. Should I be concerned?
Thanks
Gellar
Do NOT try to remove it yourself...that can cause many worse problems. I would go to your doctor and have him look at it. They can take care of it safely. And they can also diagnose the problem.

Dr is right she did not see any thing. Because when she looked they wear not just there.
They are call stone but they are probably dry mucus or saliva bubbles, and they get swallowed or come out while coughing. Some are the result of post nasal drip.
Do not try to take them out you may get injured and that injury may get infected.
the little things make me smile
sounds more like strep throat to me but idk. I've had it for the past few days. Same thing has happened to me. You should go back to the doctor and get them to swab your throat and send it to the lab. that way they can tell you what it is in no time and you'll be able to get the proper treatment. if your doctor doesn't do it that way then you need to see someone else. if it is strep it can go to your heart if left untreated.
