Are your tonsils covered in white sores? If so, you may have strep.

Strep is going around now. You don't have to have a high fever, or even a fever for it to be strep.
Just looking at your tonsils for redness or pus, is not adequate to diagnose strep as you can still have strep without this.
Though strep may go along with cold like symptoms, not having these...especially with this type of strep going around....doesn't mean you don't have strep.
BUT If you do have strep, it can get to your heart, kidneys, brain or other organs and distroy them, AND your life. So you don't want to mess around.
Many drug stores, like CVS or Wallgreens, have WALK-IN-CLINICS, that get you in and out. They can do a rapid strep test on you and tell you that day, if they THINK you have strep; AND prescribe you the antibiotics you will need. Some of these antibiotics are being offered free at some pharmacies.
Since MANY of the rapid strep tests don't catch strep, they will also send off a culture to make sure. This culture should come back in 2-3 days, so if they missed it, they will be able to make sure you start antibiotics to help prevent the strep from damaging your organs.
Some other things that could be causing your sore throat, could be anxiety, post nasal drip....BUT the thing is, the COST of being wrong about it being strep CAN be so high, that it is always advisable to go the extra step to make sure it is not strep.

Your neck muscles tightened up, tightening up everything inside your throat as well to cause the problem with swallowing, the muscles are so tight they can't do their normal jobs without going into pain. Tight neck muscles also restrict everything going in and out of your head. when the wastes back up they enter into the sinuses to cause the problems with them. To get rid of both problems you have to free up the muscles in your neck and here's how to do that:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about two minutes, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
