Sorry to hear that your daughter has to get tonsillitis ever so often. It's good that you give her Ibuprofen for her fever. It is an anti-inflammatory drug, which means you can use it to control not just fever but also pain and swelling. However, it doesn't kill the bacteria that causes her tonsils to be inflammed, that's why you need antibiotics to kill it. And like you mentioned, she gets better with antibiotics.
The pain and swelling in her throat makes it difficult for her to swallow so yes there is a tendency for her to expel what she takes in.
If there is recurrent tonsillitis, the doctor might suggest having a tonsillectomy when she grows up. It's still best to discuss this with your doctor.
For now we need to focus on preventing and minimizing the occurrence of tonsillitis. Usually children at their age are very fond of exploring their environment. Is she still in the phase where she likes putting things in her mouth? Or does she thumbsuck? She could possibly get the bacteria through this. It would help if you make sure the environment she plays in is clean. Also if somebody in the family has cough and colds it would be better if they stay away from her until they recover so they wouldn't easily affect your child.
It's also good to give your child a good dose of Vitamin C to protect her from infection. She needs to drink plenty of orange juice. If she feels her throat is painful, she can drink from a straw or a cup so she won't have a hard time swallowing. Hope this helps.

I suggest getting the tonsils removed. My sister had this problem and although doctors these days tend to be somewhat relunctant to go through the procedure, its incredibly simple procedure and the child is out before the end of the day. Its a little radical ill agree but my sister is the last person to get sick in our family... and those who i know who have had it done have never regretted it....
