I was tested for hiv at the three month mark (was negative) but still have chronic tonsillitis.is this common?

I'd have it tested in another 3 months, and in the mean time get with an ENT doctor. You may have an type of bacteria that the normal antibiotics will not touch. They can do a culture to find out about that.

HIV has about every disease symptom out there, you probably just have mono, stop worrying about HIV, you dont have it. You could say, hey my eyeballs hurt and somebody in here would still think you contracted HIV. Seriosuly, go look at the HIV sysmptoms, you will see that every symptom for any sickness/disease can be explained by HIV. Trust me, you dont have it, you have mono or tonsilitis hypertrophy, maybe even oral HPV

And your question is? Gonorrhea pharygitis?

Chronic tonsillitis is not an indicator of HIV..If someone has contracted HIV usualy almost always it's a brief mono like illness around 2-4 weeks after the sex, then it goes away completely and you feel fine for years..you don't have HIV

Talk to your doctor about your tonsilitis, and get another HIV test in 3 months. Testing negative until 6 months after exposure, then testing positive at the 6 month mark is extremely rare, but it does occur.
Talk to a doctor and get retested.

You do not have HIV. You tested at the 3 month mark which is considered a accurate test result. You have tested outside of the window period, because usually most people with HIV will test positive by the 1st month. There are those who take up to 6 months, but those are people who are previous IV Drug users, chemo/radiation, and those who had received a transplant (organ, etc).
You do not have HIV. But you do have some form of throat infection which can be tonsilitis, allergies, MONO which can last for months, the only way to get those treated is to go to the doctor and have them check your throat.
You tested at 3 months, so you are okay. Unless you are one of those who I mention above who take up to 6 months, then you are okay.

You need to move past HIV. You are negative!!! Congratulations!
Some time when people have chronic tonsillitis, it is only because they need to have their tonsils removed. It can also be a red flag for something else wrong like appendicitis or an infected gallbladder. If you are taking antibiotics for your infection, and have another infection like appendix or gallbladder, then the antibiotics won't be strong enough to fight off the infection due to too much infection.
