How to tell the difference between sore and average tonsils?My sister just got tonsillitis and my throat is starting to hurt and im not feeling to hot...
im looking at my throat but i cant tell if my tonsils are sore looking or normal..
so how can i tell the difference?

Ive had tonsillitis and it's incredibly painful. You would definitely be able to tell if you just had a sore throat. Tonsillitis makes it hurt REALLY bad when you try to swallow anything, even your spit. Most the time people that have that have to get their tonsils removed, I did anyway.

There are different extremities your throat can mildly hurt and you can still have tonsillitis, it can also start out mild and increase from there, give it a while it may hurt more later on, unfortunately. Having tonsillitis does not mean you need to get your tonsils out, it is actually quite hard to get a doctor and insurance to agree to take them out. The only way to get them out it if you have multiple cases of severe tonsillitis. Fluids and rest are best.
