How bad is the pain after getting your tonsils removed?

Hi,I did the following:
How bad is the pain after getting your tonsils removed?I have strep throat 9 times these year and it is only May so I need my tonsils removed. How is the pain after the surgery? If you have had this happen to you, please tell me your experince! I am so worried!!

I think it varies from person to person, but for me it was not bad at all. I was younger but they gave me some pain medication to help take the edge off of the soreness.

For me it was like having a sore throat that you get with a cold. Nothing so bad it was unbearable. More annoying than anything. Just let the doctors know if it gets uncomfortable and they can give you stuff to help.

It sucks for a few days, and then you start feeling better.

Hang in there, I hope you feel good soon.

had it done as a child i remember it feeling like a really bad case of tonsillitis for a few days and hard to swallow. The worst for me was vomiting blood that pooled in my stomache from the surgery, which is common and stomaches dont like digesting it. so the vomiting is awful.

4-5 days later, pain subsided substantially and i was eating crisps and what ever i wanted.
I think for adults its supposed to be worse though
