Can too many Tonsil Stones (tonsiloliths) lead to Tonsillitis?I've been getting tonsiloliths at an abnormally regular rate.I usually get them every couple weeks, but lately I'm getting them like every 3 days.I brush regularly (2 or 3 times daily) and I can't understand why I could be getting so many of them and if they are causing my throat to be sore. Can they cause tonsillitis?

Its hard to answer because the definition of tonsillitis is simply an infection of the tonsils, not one specific virus or bacteria. Taking that into consideration, the answer is yes. Sorry :(
"Tonsil stones can grow to become a rather large size, depending on the individual. Some tonsil stones can become yellow or gray in color and cause tonsillitis, according to an article by Dr. Alan Greene, found on the drgreene.com website. People were even known to get their tonsils removed because of the frequent occurrence of tonsil stones as a prevention method. This was before people understood them. "
