White spots on tonsils?

These are useful and collceted by kong!
White spots on tonsils? For a little over a year now, I've had these whitish spots that appear on my tonsils. They shed themselves, and then another one will reappear. But I've sometimes gone for months and months without having this problem. These white balls smell bad, and it's always the same smell for them.
I went to the doctor, but she didn't do anything and she told me to come back if I developed a fever later (which I didn't).
I feel as if no one is taking me seriously about this problem. I read somewhere that a tonsillectomy may be required, but my doctor said that the removal of the tonsils is very rare these days. My parents won't listen to me, my doctor won't listen, so I have no clue what to do.
Could this be a serious problem that needs the attention of a tonsillectomy, or am I just doomed to live with this annoyance forever?

Its when your tonsils are inflamed, they called tonsil stones
