Would enlarged tonsils affect my cross country times?

Do you find what you need? Look here!
Would enlarged tonsils affect my cross country times?I started off the season running a 17:30 my first meet for a 5k. I then saw a steady decrease in my times and ended up running a 18:45 on the same course. I went to the doctors and he told me I had huge tonsil and slight enlarged adenoids, could this be the problem or is it something else?

I doubt if that could have been the cause.
Did the doctor advise removal of your tonsils & adenoids?

cirkdone
Enlarged tonsils and/or adenoids interfere with your breathing. When running you need large quantities of air and so anything which interferes with breathing freely will reduce your efficiency.

Ask the doctor about getting your tonsils removed.
