your tonsils are those dangly things you see at the back of your throat when you open your mouth up, and your glands can be felt just under your chin at the start of your neck.you will feel 2 lumps.

The twin set of tonsils are just at the base of the nasopharynx, or the portion of your throat that disappears back of the tongue, they are like to imbedded 'pillows' in the throat wall, and are mainly there to help with infection prevention, unfortunately they themselves get infected often. The adnoids ar above the tonsils just out of sight up the throat's nasal passage, these disappear when you enter puberty. The small appendage at the back of your throat is the uvula and it serves no real purpose. If you are wanting to know where the parotid glands are thay located on your neck just under the lower jaw lineabout 1 inch forward from where the mandible comes down vertically from in front of the ear and turns 90 degrees toward the fron of your face. These glands filter lymph nodes and infection as well.
