Strep throat - go to the doctor, you need antibiotics.

When you have white specks on your tonsils it is a good possibility that you have strep throat. I would go to a doctor right away and get evaluated and on antibiotics because if left untreated, strep throat can cause alot of other health problems. Hope you feel better soon.

you may have tonsil stones... if there is a bad taste/smell associated with the white things, you have stones. otherwise, they could be inflamed due to illness/virus/bacterial infection. do you have a fever or any other symptoms? if not, they are likely stones.

i once had a friend who got something that sounded exactly like that from breathing in poison ivy
she knew she was going to be around it and wore long pants and gloves and all that, but apparently breathing it in can give you poison ivy on your throat
