What does getting your tonsils out feel like?I have big tonsils and am getting them out soon because it's hard for me to breathe. How bad is the pain? Does your voice still sound the same? ..I'd like to know that, and any other else you want to share about the experience. Thanks. xoxo

I was constantly getting strep throat and my tonsils were pretty big, which is why I got them removed. Before I got mine out I heard that after someone gets them taken out then their voice gets higher pitched. Mine, however, didn't. I guess the outcome with that is just different with everybody.
Right after I got them taken out, the anesthesia was still in effect and I took some painkiller medicine (in liquid form, of course)when I got home, so it didn't hurt that bad. I was in pain the first week of recovery, but the second week was much worse. At times the pain would bring me to tears because it was so bad. I'm not trying to scare you or anything, but overall it's not as bad as I thought it would be. The worst part is recovery, but going through it is definitely worth it.
