What causes Recurrent Tonsillitis and how can one keep it away?My friend has Recurrent Tonsillitis that occurs at least 3 times a year.
When it happens she gets Acute tonsillitis: characterized by a sudden sore throat, difficult or painful swallowing, tender lymph nodes in the jaw and neck, and, occasional airway obstruction.
Her doctor suggested tonsillectomy but she is apprehensive about it and would like to find out more about alternative permanent cures (if there are any)..
If a type of virus / bacteria is responsible for Tonsillitis, what makes some people more susceptible to Tonsillitis than others (given that they live in the same environment and have a more or less similar diet)?are there any hereditary factors that influence one's susceptibility to Tonsillitis? =P
Many thanks in advance for your advice! ^,^)/

First of all, tonsillectomy is usually advisable if tonsillitis occurred like more than 6 times a year.
Tonsillitis is could be cause by virus which is self limiting that the body will fight the infections on its own. If it has been cause by bacteria most common is GABHS (Streptococci) doctors will prescribed antibiotics, be sure to complete the dosages and follow the instruction how the doctor has prescribed it.
To prevent tonsillitis
-Avoid letting your child near anyone who already has tonsillitis or a sore throat.
-Make sure to practice good hand-washing habit.
- If you are concerned that your child has the symptoms of tonsillitis, or has been exposed to someone who has been infected, talk with your child's doctor.

I havehad extreme acute toncillitus alot in my life. the experts told me when i was in my late teens that they thought a toncillectomy would be to dangerous. so, instead to give up, hairspray, scented aerosals like ,room freshners etc. and it has helped alot. i have noticed that the last time i was around someone that sprayed room deodorizer i got toncillitis. plus, be mindful that studies have linked reoccuring toncillitus with O.C.D . also, my father did have issues with toncillitus when he was younger so, it probly is like a genetic weakness. i hope this helps you .
