Tonsillitis and Strep, can they mutate?I asked this question the other day and the answer was very good, http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqlwI37F8VwIIuA.Amo42Irsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071217082802AAERkBL
I looked it up and began home treatments, I was sure it was tonsillitis, but the symptoms weren't going away. So I went to the doctor who was also sure it was tonsillitis because the symptoms matched exactly and I didn't have a fever at any time. Well I asked for a strep test anyway to rule it out and guess what?
It's Strep. The doctor said the same thing as the website did, strep comes on with a fever and usually no cold symptoms (refer to link for my symptoms).
Why didn't I get a fever? And why did the symptoms present themselves as tonsillitis instead of strep throat?

Some people simply have odd reactions to things- and I would guess you're one of them.
Now, there are a number of different germs that can cause tonsillitis. And I believe strep is indeed one of those things that can mutate

Yes especially if you don't take all of your antiboitics, but not into each other. More than likely you have a low grade fever that wasn't presenting when you saw the doc. Most people are around 99 you may be 98 on ave.
