Swollen right tonsil w/ holes in it & white stuff on it. Throat hurts. Bumps on back of throat. Virus or strep?It came on pretty fast. I felt fine, but the last two nights I woke up with my throat feeling like it was itching and water didn't help much. By morning the itching was gone. This morning I woke up with the sore throat and swollen tonsil. It literally has holes in it, and big patches of white stuff on the tonsil. Now tonight my throat in the back of it has red bumps on it, and my head is hurting pretty bad and am generally feeling bad, like by morning I think I'll probably be feeling REALLY rotten. I don't have a runny nose much, but am very sneezy. Is this a virus, or could it be strep? Oh and my ears have felt sort of plugged, a little sore in the mornings. My throat is sore but not fire sore..but much worse than this morning. My lymph node on the same side as the swollen tonsil is a little sore to the touch. I'll add a picture of my angry tonsil tomorrow (7/27) my birthday, oy.

Could be Strep or a bad case of Tonsilitis. Best to see the doctor and get antibiotics before it gets worse.

It sounds like strep to me. When I had it I went to the doc and they said that strep had swollen tonsils with white spots all over. They gave me some anibiotic or something and I was fine. But another time I waited for awhile before going to the doc and that time I had to get a shot in the butt lol. So hopefully you get better. Hope I helped(:

I had strep throat...it was horrible as I had the illness for 6 weeks.
