Sore throat with swollen tonsils, white pustules, run down but no fever?I've taken antibiotics 5 of the total 7 days so far (still taking them) with apparantly no improvement. I've had it a couple months and just started treatment. Does this sound like anything you've had or heard of?

If you have antibiotics, I assume you have seen a medical professional. What were you told there? Were you tested for mono?

sounds like a case of tonsilitis where you have the swollen tonsils and white pustules but not necessarily fever or sore throat. You are taking antibiotics so its bacterial and could be chronic in which case it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months to heal ,even with treatment. A good way to speed the process up is to have lab work done to identify which bacteria is causing it and target it specifically.
Make sure that you take all of your antibiotics because you can have further complications if you dont. It is important that you eradicate all of the bacteria in your system so it wont come back new and improved.

If your dr diagnosed you and did the appropriate tests you are not infected with mono because you are afflicted with a bacterial infection and mono is a virus.

Apparently that antibiotic doesn't work with your specific infection. Go back to Dr, get a throat culture to identify bacteria involved, your Dr will get a report on which antibiotic it is sensitive to and get you on the right one. Don't always have a fever with an infection. Hope you feel better.....
