Odds of catching strep throat without tonsils?Well I got strep throat and I don't have tonsils, I just want to know how odd that is because my past doctors said it is super rare and my current one disagrees.

Having your tonsils has nothing to do with catching strep throat. The odds are the same as if you had your tonsils.

When I was 16 I had strep throat every other weekend for the entire winter. It was like clockwork. My doctor told me that I should have my tonsils removed the upcoming spring when it was warmer and I had completely healed from strep. I did have my tonsils out that spring and didn't have another sore throat for almost 20 years. My tonsils were poisoning my system. Once they were removed then the strep had no place to sit and fester. But, you can eventually get strep again without tonsils. And, sometimes tonsils do grow back.
