No insurance, no money, but acute tonsillitis. Life is in danger, what can I do??

Other people asked questions on various topics, and are still
waiting for answer. Would be great if you can take a sec and
answer them
No insurance, no money, but acute tonsillitis. Life is in danger, what can I do??My father gets Acute Tonsillitis today. I want to call 911 now, but some told me it costs $ 1,000 for emergency ambulance, plus medical treatment fees. My family really cannot afford out-the-pocket money, and my father does not have insurance. What can I do now??
Thank you!!
Poor! Now I understand how important health is. If someone is poor, things get worse.
Thank you all.
Well, for new immigrants, we are not eligible for Medicaid. Actually, we do not want to rely on government's aid when we can work by ourselves. Anyway, my dad took Chinese medicine, and I hope everything turns out to be fine tomorrow.

borrow money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you can pay it back later, and you can borrow it from the bank or a friend
you don't want your dad to die, do you?!?!?!

Take him to the ER. You will be sad if something happens and he died over a few thousand bucks. Hospitals will work out a repayment program with you or he can possibly apply for medicaid even after he has been treated. Its retroactive in most states. I can't imagine they would make you pay out of pocket at the ER. They have to treat him if it is an emergency even if he has no insurance. I hope he feels better soon.

it is not a life threatening thing. It aggravates ya, but can't kill ya. Your throat gets sore, my niece has had swollen tonsils for like 5 years and her doctor said she should have them taken out to help her stop snoring. But other than that, no problem.
