It certainly sounds like it - thats what my tonsils look like when I get tonsilitis and the fever and difficulty and pain swallowing are my usual symtpoms too. Go see your doctor and get antibiotics, but these will take approx 48 hours before you notice an improvement, so in the meantime, dose yourself up with paracetamol and ibuprofen, and drink cold liquids or even better, ice pops or ice cream to help ease the pain.

Honey, that's strep throat, and could spread the infection through-out your body, it can affect your teeth, ears everything. having a high fever, suggests there is infection, go to the doctor immediately for treatment, it's painful and can be potentially dangerous. then have those suckers yanked out, you will feel a 100% better.
