Medical questions, strep throat, tonsils?they tested for strep throat and it was positive, but right now i'm swallowing fine, top of my neck feels bruised from the outside, just wondering is there a possibility it is a tonsil problem instead of strep throat it's been 20 years or so since i have had strep and i remember it being a lot worse, unless i have a very mild case of it.but didn't know if it was possible to mistaken strep throat with tonsil trouble

Your tonsils are lymphoid material designed to trap pathogens and prevent them from entering your body so that your immune system can kill it off. To me it sounds like they have done their job quite well..and you only have a mild strep infection.
If you somehow lacked certain immunity and you found yourself getting multiple strep infections and having pain/difficulty swallowing/breathing...then removing the tonsils can be an option.
