It is contagious. It is a bacterial infection. Most people catch colds and other ailments when their immune system is down.

Yes it is contageous. It is an infection and your tonsils are working overtime, hence the swelling, to fight it. Contamination could be on dinnerware and silverware that is not cleaned thoroughly. Never share your eating utensils with another. It can be spread by kissing and other direct and indirect contact. Go to a doctor and get a throat culture to be sure. Then they can prescribe the proper antibiotic to use. Fooling around with home remedies could make a diagnosis difficult.

Yes it is. Bacteria. I have it at the moment and i am taking Anti biotics for it... feeling much better now!!
